This hospital is considered to be a Level II trauma center, with 24-hour service in order to provide trauma care. Due to an increase in population in the surrounding area and the need for hospitals in the state to strengthen their structural requirements as a result of the Northridge Earthquake in 1994, this building will be updated with seismic retrofitting to be completed by 2030. This retrofitting will include an updated 4-story structure for medical operations and a 6-story parking garage.
